Game Review
In a tightly contested La Liga encounter, Levante and Atlético Madrid played out a goalless draw at the Estadi Ciutat de València on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The result was somewhat unexpected given Atlético's status as one of the league's stronger sides, but Levante's resolute defense ensured they shared the spoils. The match was characterized by a lack of clear-cut chances, with both teams struggling to break down their opponent's defenses. Atlético Madrid's Jan Oblak (GAP +6.5%) was instrumental in maintaining the clean sheet, making several crucial saves to deny Levante any opportunity to take the lead. On the other side, Levante's Mathew Ryan (GAP -0.1%) also put in a solid performance between the posts. Atlético Madrid made several changes to their lineup, bringing in Álex Baena, Dávid Hancko, Julián Álvarez, Marc Pubill, and Koke as substitutes. These changes were part of a tactical adjustment by the head coach to inject fresh energy into the team. Levante also rotated their squad, introducing Tai Abed Kassus, Manu Sánchez, Etta Eyong, Jon Ander Olasagasti, and Paco Cortés from the bench. Marcos Llorente (GAP +6.0%) was a standout performer for Atlético, contributing significantly to their midfield stability. His efforts were complemented by Clément Lenglet (GAP +4.8%), who was solid in defense despite receiving a yellow card early in the match. This draw leaves Atlético Madrid in a challenging position as they aim to keep pace with the league leaders. Meanwhile, Levante will be pleased with the point, which helps them maintain their mid-table status. Both teams will need to find more attacking impetus in their upcoming fixtures to improve their standings. The result highlights the competitive nature of La Liga this season, where even the top teams can be held by determined opponents. As the league progresses, both teams will look to build on this performance to achieve their respective season goals.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
